Summary
Description
We are seeking a Manager of BioAnalytical Services to lead, develop and manage the Bothell, WA BioAnalytical laboratory. This position reports to the Director of Operations. Responsibilities include oversight of laboratory operations, staff management, and significant lab work. Specific responsibilities would include:
- Supervise and work with the Discovery BioAnalytical team to perform the following activities
- Expertly conduct bio-analytical and in vitro experiments to support Discovery ADME/DMPK lines of service.
- Supervise formulations work for all efficacy and BioAnalytical work
- Supervise BioAssay work
- Analyzes data from experiments and communicate results to clients.
- Work to understand the client’s needs through teleconferences and meetings.
- Prepare and review draft and final reports and data summaries for clients.
- Maintain laboratory and equipment in working order.
- Act as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) overseeing radiation program in Bothell consisting of radioimmunoassays (RIAs). Experience with I125 preferred.
- Improve best practices and implements new service lines.
- Act as Study Director on Discovery ADME/DMPK lines of service.
- Work with the Technical Director(s) to define operational abilities and capacity.
- Works with the other In Vivo Lab Managers and Director of Operations to improve In Vivo services.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Ph.D., MS, or BS in an appropriate discipline (Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, etc.);
Experience Pharmaceutical industry or CRO experience is necessary. 2+ years of supervisory experience is required. Experience in Toxicology a plus.
Skills Candidate must have achieved a level of specialization in a scientific field(s) such as drug metabolism, mass spectrometry, or chromatography. Experience with radiolabeled in vitro studies is a plus.
Knowledge Understand the principles of drug discovery (lead identification) and development (lead optimization). Must be able to work with a variety of bioanalytical instruments (MS, MS/MS, nephelometer, LC sample introduction systems, other instruments as needed for the service lines) and perform sample incubations, preparation, and analysis in a non-GLP environment. Knowledge sufficient to supervise formulations work for GLP in-vitro work.
